Mig Welder

The job will be based in the welding area of our busy fabrication shop in Ross-on- Wye. It will consist of various work involved in the manual MIG welding of cabs and other fabrications. The person will be expected to have welding experience, and be willing to learn new skills.

Listed below is a brief summary of the work involved, although this may change from time to time as workloads vary:

  • Manual MIG welding

  • Working effectively to work instructions, assembly drawings and processes.

  • Using air and electrical hand tools - grinders, linishers, drills etc.

  • Ensuring work conforms to quality and output requirements.

  • Actively working to resolve problems and ensure continuous improvements.

  • Completing shop floor documentation (e.g. Progress labels, check sheets, etc).

  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

It is expected that the successful applicant will possess the majority of the following skills, experiences and requirements:-

  • Manual MIG welding experience.

  • Have a positive, enthusiastic and committed attitude and approach to work.

  • Be physically fit and historically have lost little time from work.

  • Have a full clean car driving licence.

  • Be logical, tidy, clear thinking, reliable and punctual.

  • Be prepared to work overtime hours and shift patterns to suit customer demand;

  • Have the ability to carry out tasks with minimum supervision and work with team members.
